If you spend enough time searching out for different beers eventually you will get one that doesn’t quite hit you the right way. Sometimes it is something subtle or sometimes you know it is going to be bad and your right. Personally, I have never had a beer so bad that I have had to pour it out. Heck I have had bugs drown in my beers and I just pluck them out. As it seems, I have been lucky.
I don’t spend a ton of time on reddit, I may be just a few years too old for much of that site but there are some subreddits that would keep popping up in my search results like beerit that have got me to the point of not only lurking but actually participating.
When I happened upon u/titan413 asking what are “the worst beers you’ve ever tried?” I was curious to see what peoples experiences were. I have tried so many beers in my life yet so many more I have never even heard of. That is the great thing about craft beer in the USA. As the saying goes “like horse shit, it’s everywhere.” and apparently some of it has other characteristics of horse shit not mentioned in such polite company as yourself.
u/jgrant392 described Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon Ale as
You’ll detect a hint of grease fire on the nose, followed by an intense and lasting taste of grease fire on the palate.
Now, I applaud Rogue for their willingness to experiment and create unique brews but I would be remiss not to mention u/VenomousViper saying Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Chocolate, Banana and Peanut Butter Ale
Makes me want to vomit thinking about it.
Ok, enough picking on Rogue, as they are one of my favorite brewers. Plenty of other great brewers got picked on in this discussion as well so click on over and ctrl + F your favorite beer and see who hated it. Oh and let me know your worse beer in the comments as I am making a list.
