I started this blog, in part, to share some of the things I have found other people doing that I wish I had thought of. The world is a melting pot of ideas and the different ways we can come up with to do the same things can be astounding.
Over at www.seriouseats.com they have come up with a list of favorite food hacks (which just means a non-traditional way of preparing food). Included are tips for cooking in a hotel room, making ice cream without an ice cream maker and cooking pizza on a skillet, among others.
The one I found most interesting was micro-food smoking with the use of a wok or pressure cooker. They admit the results won’t be as impressive as a full scale smoker but for a quick smoked meat fix it should work out nicely. I may give this a try in a few weeks myself if you are looking to see how it works out before jumping in for yourself.
Anyhow, give the article a read, some interesting thoughts and processes that just might come in handy for you in the future.
